1. Stand up straight with your feet together.

2. Stretch your arms strongly over your head.

3. Roll your shoulders back and lift your chest.

4. Slowly bend your knees.

5. Keep your heels firmly on the floor.

6. Deepen the position.

(Warrior pose 2)

1. Stand with your legs a comfortable distance apart.

2. Raise your arms to shoulder height.

3. Lift your kneecaps by tightening your thighs.

4. Bring your tailbone in.

5. Turn your right foot out to 90 degrees and turn your left toes in slightly.

6. Roll your shoulders back and lift your chest.

7. Bend your right knee to 90 degrees.

8. Keep your torso and hips facing forward.

9. Lift your waist up and off your hips.

10. Turn your head and look over your right arm.

Benefits Increases flexibility of hips; strengthens legs; encourages determination.

(Revolving triangle pose)

1. Stand with legs a comfortable distance apart.

2. Put your hands on your hips.

3. Turn your right foot out 90 degrees and turn your left toes slightly in.

4. Turn your torso toward your right leg.

5. Raise your arms out to shoulder height.

6. Reach your left arm forward, rotating your torso to the right.

7. Place your left fingertips on floor by your right little toe.

8. Straighten your legs.

9. Extend the spine, lift your chest, and rotate a little more.

10. Lift your right arm up in line with your shoulder, turn your head upward and look toward the sky.
