The Palms Shopping Centre project began in 1998 and the first store opened its doors on the 16th of December 2005.  The Centre was officially commissioned by President of Nigeria, Olusegun Obasanjo on 20th April, 2006.  

The Palms is owned by Persianas Properties Ltd, promoted by entrepreneur Tayo Amusan.  Persianas is Nigeria's leading property development company, and is embarking on the expansion of the Palms Mall, adding over 180,000 sq meters of additional space in Retail, office and Residential Apartments.  Persianas is also engaged in the development of other mix-use properties in Lagos, and other states of Nigeria.
